I was inspired to get this shot simply by admiring the work of many sports photojournalists in sports magazines. At this 2011 game between Washington and UCLA at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, a peer of mine, a 25-year veteran in the field, showed me, a rookie photographer, how to get to the top of the arena, on the catwalk, to get a few shots from up above the court. I used a Nikon D3100 with a 55-200mm ƒ/4.5-5.6 lens. I made sure I had a good grip on my camera and lens, along with no loose items on me.
