When did you make this film?
June of 2011.
What was this for? Was it a personal project? A job?
I shot Midnight Sun Iceland as a personal project.
Can you tell us the story behind the film?
The work of photographer Michael Reichmann from The Luminous Landscape was the main inspiration for this video. His work is what introduced me to this amazingly photogenic country, and is the main reason I went on this adventure. It was the perfect place for me to shoot my first timelapse video. For 17 days I travelled solo around the entire island shooting almost 24 hours a day. I shot 38,000 images and travelled some 2900 miles. Iceland is one of the most beautiful and usual landscapes, especially during the Midnight Sun when the quality of light is spectacular.
What camera did you shoot with?
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS 7D, Dynamic Perception motion control timelapse gear.
