When did you make this photo series?
I began photographing my series Frozen in Time during the early part of 2013.

What was this project for?
An assignment in my specialization class.

What is the story behind these images?
The items for this series were randomly chosen. I wanted to transform everyday objects in use into something abstract in order to evoke a different perspective from the viewer. People normally only see these objects for their purpose. By freezing motion to a moment in time, I am able to show there is art and beauty in all things and motion.

What equipment did you use?
Canon EOS 50d, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens, tripod, three speed-lights.

What do you think made this project stand out to the judges?
When viewing these pictures, all of the senses are aroused. The viewer can hear the light bulb crash, smell the matchstick burning, hear the water splashing and taste the kiwi on the spoon. The ability of these photos to capture this type of response is what I feel made this project stand out to the judges.
