When did you make this film?
January 2013.

What was this project for?
A school project for the New York Film Academy.

What is the story behind the film?
Our assignment for this project was to make a commercial for any product. I wanted to explore the concept of viral videos and web advertising, but the school's camera is a RED EPIC and the footage looked so good it was over beautifying the standard of viral aesthetics. I came up with the idea that no matter what I do, I just couldn't fail, and the best thing I could sell for the project was the camera I was using. I also really liked that I didn't show the product in the video, but the result of using one.

What equipment do you use?
RED EPIC MYSTERIUM-X with a full kit of Compact Prime Super Speed Lenses by Zeiss, Zephyr Camera Stabilizer by Steadicam. No Filters.

What do you think made this project stand out to the judges?
I think the video's simplicity made it stand out. I'm a former designer and everything I do is based on Ludwig Mies van der Rohe ideas: "less is more" and "God is in the details". I also think they liked it because it's funny. People like to laugh.
