High-Resolution Digital Back
At the heart of the Leaf Aptus-II 12 is a powerful, full-frame, 53.7x40.3mm, 80-megapixel CCD sensor with high dynamic range and light sensitivity. Especially well-suited for photographers who need maximum detail and the ability to make large print sizes, the medium-format Aptus-II 12 delivers a level of resolution that eliminates moiré and captures the subject in finer detail. With built-in SensorFlex technology, you can shoot images either at full resolution or select an aspect ratio, such as 1:1, with less resolution (60 megapixels) for faster processing and smaller file sizes. Leaf Aptus-II digital backs have 3.5-inch displays, touch-screen display controls and support a wide range of cameras, including the Phase One 645DF and AF, Mamiya 645DF and AF, most Hasselblad V models and a range of large-format cameras via adapters. Estimated Street Price: $31,995. Contact: Leaf Imaging US, (631) 547-8900, www.leaf-photography.com.

Fine Glass
Nikon continues to expand its lens lineup with new wide-angle and telephoto additions. The AF-S NIKKOR 35mm ƒ/1.4G works with FX (full-frame) and DX (APS-C) cameras to deliver high resolution and natural blur characteristics at maximum aperture. With the Rear Focus system, the lens delivers fast, smooth autofocusing without front barrel rotation. The AF-S Nikkor 200mm ƒ/2G ED VR II has an image-stabilization system that provides up to four stops of correction for getting sharp images while shooting handheld. The Tripod Detection Mode compensates for tiny vibrations that occur when the camera is mounted on a tripod. In both lenses, a refined manual-focus driving mechanism makes switching between manual focus and autofocus easier. Estimated Street Price: $1,799 (35mm); $5,999 (200mm). Solid Support
The Manfrotto Pro Tripod 057 has a load capacity ranging from 26.5 to 39.7 pounds, extends to a maximum height of nearly 80 inches and is available in four configurations to meet your specific needs. There are two different leg extensions, a long 71-inch version and a regular 52-inch version, and two different types of columns. One model features a gradual adjustment mechanism with an aluminum column for high precision and the other features a classic rapid adjustment with a carbon column for quick changes. An innovative design featuring top-notch ergonomics makes the tripod easy to handle. Estimated Street Price: $751 to $912. Contact: Manfrotto, (201) 818-9500, www.manfrotto.us.

Clear View
Color accuracy is critical when working with images, and LaCie has designed its 324i display with this in mind as it covers 98% of the AdobeRGB color gamut. Key features include native 1920x1200 resolution, 24 inches of usable workspace for viewing two projects at once with room for toolbars and palettes, and 178º viewing angles that allow you to look at images from contrasting angles without distortion or color loss. An antiglare panel prevents unwanted reflections and a multifunction stand glides effortlessly when raising, lowering, swiveling, tilting or pivoting the display. Estimated Street Price: $1,249. Smooth Move
When filming a scene with an HD video DSLR, precise panning and tilting are essential to getting the right shots. The Sachtler Cine DSLR fluid head has a load capacity of two to 11 pounds and a tilt range of +90º to -75º. A counterbalance in 10 steps and three vertical horizontal grades of drag enhance its operation. Other features include a special camera plate with an anti-twist retainer designed for HD DSLRs, finely graded three-step damping and a robust metal housing. The Cine DSLR is lightweight, compact and easy to transport. List Price: $1,500. Contact: Sachtler, (845) 268-0100, www.sachtler.us.
