Please describe how you got this photo?
The background for this capture was black and seamless. The background light was set at ƒ/5.6 four feet from the backdrop. The sitter was placed on a posing stool 6 feet from the background. The hair light was a strip light 9x36 inches, with both the upper and lower diffuser installed, and set at ƒ/3.5. My key light was a 22-inch Paul C. Buff beauty dish with the white interior covered by the sock that comes with the unit, set at 40 inches camera right of the subject at ƒ/8. To keep shadows from under his hat, I used another 9x36-inch strip light with an egg crate on the floor in front set at ƒ/5.6. On camera left I used a silver Westcott Illuminator Reflector for fill light. All my lighting is by Paul C. Buff.
