  KENKO VARIABLE-NDX
The Kenko Vari-NDX filter is a variable neutral density that has a filter factor range of 2.5-1,000, or a light loss of 1.3 – 10 stops. Kenko created this filter by taking two pieces of the highest quality polarizing and mounting them in opposition to each other. When the filter ring is turned from min to max the filter darkens until it is nearly opaque. This has the effect of a neutral density filter that can change from a 1.3 stop light loss to a 10-stop light loss. This type of neutral density filter is very valuable for controlling exposure, slowing down shutter speeds for creative blurring effects. This allows for shutter speeds as low as several seconds to be set in full sun conditions. It also allows for using very wide aperture settings like f/1.4 or f/1.8 for a very shallow depth of field in bright sunny conditions.

  HOYA PRO1 Digital ND64
THK Photo Product, Inc announces the new HOYA PRO1 Digital ND64 Neutral Density filter. The ND64 is a dark neutral density filter with a filter factor of 64, meaning there is 6-stop light loss. This is a great filter for slowing down shutter speeds to capture motion. An example: In daylight, maybe the slowest shutter speed possible without a filter could be 1/60 sec at F/22 By adding the HOYA PRO1 ND64, a shutter speed of 1 full second would be possible. Another use of the ND64 would be controlling depth of field. With these strong ND filters, a much wider aperture can be used. Wide apertures like F/1.4 and F1.8 create a very shallow depth of field and have the effect of isolating the subject from the background. Creative possibilities are endless with this type of filter.

  SLIK LEVELING UNIT
The SLIK LEVELING UNIT is a device that mounts between the tripod and tripod head to give it the camera and head the ability to be leveled more easily without having to spend the time lengthening or shortening the tripod's legs to make the head perfectly level. The LEVELING UNIT has an all-metal construction and is designed to hold up to10 lbs of tripod head and equipment. Operation is simple, just loosen the thumb screw and adjust the position of the head using the bubble level as a guide to leveling of the head. Once the head is level turn the thumb-screw to lock it down. This is a similar method to how professional video camera tripods are leveled. It has a industry standard U3/8 tripod mount so it will mount onto almost any tripod from any manufacturer and has a U1/4-20 tripod head mount which can be used with U3/8 adapter. Between the two sizes it will mount almost any head from any manufacturer.
