  • Description: I waited patiently, as most photographers do, for the sun to make its final turn in the sky, to bid us farewell until the following day. The golden hour was upon us. We had waited hours in the sun for these minutes. Shadows began to creep across the barren dune landscape faster than expected. Long lines filled with blackness raced across the desert floor. Golden light rays shined onto the sand, highlighting its beauty and form. The sun desperately touched as much as possible before falling out of the sky. We photographed in silence like we always do. The shuffling of sand was the only noise in the air as we moved about, in search of new perspectives as the light changed so dramatically. Silence, light, and shadows. These are peace to a photographer. It’s what we search for. It’s the beauty of photography. It’s what we found that evening, studying the light on the dunes.
