- Artist Statement: Photography is the artistic medium I use to inspire positive emotion through beauty in pictures. I compose my subjects with aesthetic simplicity to emphasize the pure essence of their intrinsic beauty. Over the years, my style has developed from a foundation inspired by the lighting and composition techniques of the great masters. I am a graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art where I studied photography before the arrival of digital photographic technology. As digital capture and processing became available, I adopted and implemented these methods. Like brushes and canvas to a painter, digital technology is but a tool in the hands of the artist. Like any tool, it’s best use comes by those who have mastered the fundamentals of their craft. My preferred subject matter is people along with the things that bring joy and nourishment into our lives. This is why I specialize in portraiture, fashion, and lifestyle. Creating photographs for advertising and editorial satisfies the goal of sharing my work with as many viewers as possible.
