The Historic Cyclone Amusement Park is located in Brooklyn's Coney Island neighborhood which is situated on the Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded by state subsidized buildings which are populated by extremely poor families, most of whom live on welfare and government support. Cyclone Park, the playground of children of these local families, is being destroyed and converted into a series of brand new shops, a movie theater, and a baseball stadium. Some call this progress. Here, I captured an image of a child from one of the local families enjoying the last summer of "his park."
