Fingazoom Adds One-Finger Control To Lenses

Kickstarter-funded tool makes pulling focus or zoom easy.

Anyone familiar with pulling focus or dialing-in a focal length knows that without a dedicated control, the process can be difficult and inaccurate. Many pull-focus shots have been ruined with jerky lens settings changes.

The Fingazoom is a new, clever accessory that adds finger tabs to the zoom and focus dials, for quick, accurate control, while still hand-holding the lens. Eight different settings allow the Fingazoom to work with most of the major lens brands.

Montreal, May 2nd, 2017 – A new accessory enters the world of DSLR and mirrorless videography. The Fingazoom provides a superior image quality while ensuring greater stability. Its universal usability allows it to fit diameters up to 77mm.

The Fingazoom is a patented accessory that allows to control the lens rings with just one finger. Also, the accesory allows filmmakers to film with precision without ever letting go of the body of the camera. All you have to do is use your thumb to either zoom in or focus, all while keeping the palm of your hand well intact with the body of the camera. The Fingazoom is made of flexible materials and has 8 notches that allow the device to adapt to the circumferences of most lenses from all the biggest brands: Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, Tamron, Sigma, Olympus, Panasonic, etc.

David Fabrega invented the Fingazoom while creating his last documentary ”Return to Cuba”. Equipt with a DSLR camera, he was capturing shots without changing his lens. He was using a multifunctional zoom in order to stay as close as possible to the action. This type of camera was initially created to take photos, so it is much more difficult for filmmakers to have good image quality with the manual zoom and focus. As a result, he had the idea to create and patent the Fingazoom. With the success of the crowdfunding campaign, where over 200 products were sold in only one month, and a distribution at B&H Photo Video store in New York, the enthusiasm for the Fingazoom is undeniable.
